Stamford police arrest 2 teens in violent robbery spree

STAMFORD - Stamford police say they arrested two teenagers last night in connection with a violent robbery spree in a downtown park.

Investigators say Jovan Baez and Carmelo Martinez, both 19, appeared in court today for the alleged beating and robbery of a person in Veteran's Park. They say the incident is one of five other similar crimes in the park this month.

Police say they have more suspects and expect to make as many as 20 arrests. They say that each case involves groups of five to 20 people and that all of those responsible are in their late teens to early 20s.
