STAMFORD - Stamford police are looking for two men who shot up a liquor store in an attempted robbery on New Year's Eve.

Authorities say the masked men walked into Hope Bottle Shop shortly before 9 p.m. According to surveillance video, three shots were fired from a small handgun and one of the suspects reached over the counter to try and open the register.

Both men fled when an employee threw a case of beer at them and chased them out.

No one was hurt and nothing was reported stolen. However, police say the suspects face a slew of felony charges and significant jail time.
