STAMFORD - The city of Stamford has begun to dig out following a snowstorm that dumped nearly 2 feet of snow on the area.

Some residents who had to get to work this morning said they spent more than an hour shoveling out their cars and driveways.

Meanwhile, city officials said most roads were plowed at least twice early in the day, making driving conditions manageable for most.

Stamford police urged residents to be extra careful while driving at night due to black ice.
