STAMFORD - Several students from Stamford are stuck in Europe as a result of the volcanic ash cloud that is blanketing parts of the continent.

A group of 10 students from the Academy of Information, Technology and Engineering have been trapped in Rome since their flight didn't leave as scheduled Saturday.

The group is expected to finally return home tomorrow after they were able to get a direct flight out of Rome to the United States.

More than 200 students from southwestern Connecticut have been stranded in various parts of Europe.
