STAMFORD - Stamford is removing barrels from a park in Scofieldtown to check for contamination Tuesday.

Residents spotted the barrels in the same area where well water contamination has been reported in the past year. Part of the park is located on the site of a former landfill.

Early testing on a barrel removed Tuesday shows it contained water and oil. More tests will be performed.
