STAMFORD - A Stamford woman is hoping to start a natural revolution in the art world, and she is doing it right from her own kitchen.
By day, Jessica Gonzales works as a school bus driver in Greenwich, but she says that pushing the boundaries of what she can do as a naturalist painter is her true passion.
Gonzales has been painting on canvases in her kitchen for the past eight years. She creates her works with a table knife - no brushes required. And the egg white base she uses to create colors requires much trial and error, she says.
Gonzales started painting as an adult, but says her inspiration dates back to her childhood in Peru, where she first had the idea of using the colorful, natural things around her to paint.
Gonzales says she hopes her paintings are proof that nothing is impossible, and that they will inspire other artists to tap into the natural objects around them.
