HARTFORD - State lawmakers are talking about allowing Sunday alcohol sales and Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) says he is in favor of the plan.

Many liquor stores, however, are against the proposal.

Some stores say that they wouldn't sell any more product by allowing Sunday sales, but would have increased costs associated with being open.

Proponents of the bill hope it would generate extra tax revenue.

State Sen. John McKinney (R-28th District) says if the bill does pass, it could increase the need for police surveillance of the stores and could potentially lead to more drunken driving.
