Westport officials said today that they're disappointed with the state's decision not to use federal funds to help homeowners elevate their houses in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

Officials say more than 300 people in Connecticut applied for the aid, including two dozen in Westport. The funds would have allowed residents to raise their houses for protection from future storms.
