NORWALK - Starting today the state Department of Motor Vehicles will be automatically registering customers to vote.

Officials say the DMV will enroll anyone who does not opt out when applying or renewing a driver's license or state ID.

The new initiative settles a lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice which accused Connecticut of violating     the federal National Voter Registration Act of 1993.
