State: Milford police in violation of state regulations

The state has reportedly reversed its decision and ruled that the Milford Police Department violated laws when it deleted more than 2,000 hours of dash

MILFORD - The state has reportedly reversed its decision and ruled that the Milford Police Department violated laws when it deleted more than 2,000 hours of dash cam videos.

The New Haven Register says the state has ruled that the police department failed to provide the videos quickly enough before they were accidentally deleted.

The lawyer representing the family of David Servin, one of two teens from Orange killed in a crash with a Milford police officer, filed an Freedom of Information complaint after his request for police video was not fulfilled.

The paper says the state Freedom of Information Commission's report says there is no evidence the police department intentionally deleted the videos.
