HARTFORD - Gov. Dannel Malloy says nonessential state workers should stay home today as a winter storm heads towards Connecticut.

Malloy says he will activate the state emergency center at 9 a.m. this morning.

He says state officials are keeping an eye on the forecast to see if mass transit and state roads will have to close down.
