NORWALK - Connecticut state parks and beaches will soon see a cutback on staff.

Lifeguards will be cut on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning after the July 4 holiday in an effort to alleviate Connecticut's budget crisis.

"That's so dangerous, just so dangerous," says Kim Digiacomo, of Hopewell Junction, New York. "This is why we come to the beach, because there's lifeguards to protect our children and ourselves."

Some of the state parks inland will only have lifeguards on duty three days a week, and three state campgrounds will shut down after July 4.

State officials say even deeper cutbacks are expected for next year.
