HARTFORD - State police say they have stepped up patrols to keep the roads safe this Thanksgiving holiday.

Since midnight, police have made 24 DUI arrests and handed out 625 speeding tickets throughout the state, according to authorities.

They say they have also responded to 115 accidents on state roads. Only 22 people were hurt in the accidents, none of which were fatal.
