HARTFORD - Gov. Dannel Malloy says the state is ready in the event of a shutdown by the federal government.

Malloy says Social Security and Medicare services would continue to operate.

He also says Connecticut's prepared to temporarily support federally funded services.

However, Malloy says the state can only cover for the feds for three weeks.
