'Sticks for Soldiers' high school lacrosse tournament held in Fairfield to benefit wounded soldiers

FAIRFIELD - Hundreds of high school athletes competed in a lacrosse tournament yesterday to benefit two wounded soldiers.

The annual Sticks for Soldiers Thanksgiving Charity Lacrosse Tournament was held at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, with more than 60 teams participating. Money raised during the tournament will help Army Captain Benjamin Harrow and Specialist Sean Pesce. Both soldiers were seriously wounded in Afghanistan.

Organizers say they had a goal of raising $100,000.
