Thousands of people in New Canaan remained without power Monday evening after a powerful weekend storm smashed into southwestern Connecticut.In the town, crews from Connecticut

NEW CANAAN - Thousands of people in New Canaan remained without power Monday evening after a powerful weekend storm smashed into southwestern Connecticut.

In the town, crews from Connecticut Light and Power were joined by crews from out-of-state power companies to restore service.

Numerous roads in the town remain closed, covered with fallen trees and power lines.

CL&P officials have warned that full power may not be restored until Wednesday.
