STRATFORD - The Stratford Animal Shelter is once again closed after three dogs came down with an intestinal virus.

Officials say the dogs have tested positive for the parvo virus.

The shelter recently reopened after a two-week quarantine due to an earlier outbreak of the virus that killed two dogs at the facility.

Assistant Animal Control Officer Sterrett Pixley says the shelter is doing what it can to rid the shelter of the virus, but it's possible it survived in floor cracks or pipes.
