STRATFORD - A Stratford pastor is facing larceny charges for allegedly stealing from an estate he was supposed to be managing.

The lawyer for the victim says Stratford Baptist Church pastor Robert Genevicz stole $100,000.

Attorney Joe Mager filed a civil suit against Genevicz earlier this year after a review of the woman's estate found the money was missing with no explanation.

Mager says the woman was a parishioner who trusted Genevicz and turned to him for help.

Church members tell News 12 Connecticut that Genevicz has been the pastor there for 18 years. They describe him as friendly and outgoing.
