STRATFORD - A Stratford church with a long history of helping others is asking for the community's help this evening following a fire on its property.

Church leaders at the Christ Episcopal Church on Main Street say the $30,000 loss this month could have a dramatic impact on those who rely on the church for help.

Officials say an early morning fire ripped through the storage garage behind the church back on March 10, destroying the entire spring and summer stock for the church's thrift and consignment store, The Golden Rooster.

Fire officials say they're still investigating the cause of the fire.
