STRATFORD - A former Stratford teacher's aide is free on bond after being charged with sexually assaulting a student.

Kyle Damato-Kushel, 46, turned herself in to police this week to face charges.

School officials say none of the alleged incidents took place on the Wooster Middle School grounds, where school officials say Damato-Kushel worked.

School officials also say that they followed protocol when they didn't immediately notify parents that Damato-Kushel was fired.

After an investigation with the Department of Children and Families confirmed the allegations, Damato-Kushel was fired in November.  Police say they were notified of Damato-Kushel's inappropriate behavior with a student in October.
