Student Transportation of America program makes sure drivers double-check every seat on bus

WILTON - A school bus company in Wilton is promoting a new awareness campaign to make sure no child is left behind.

Officials say the campaign comes as a result of several students who died in recent years after falling asleep and being left alone on school buses.  

Student Transportation of America's new program, "Leave No Sleepers Behind," makes sure drivers double-check every seat on a bus before the end of a shift.

They say that special alarms have also been installed on every bus that will activate at the end of a shift to wake up anyone who may be sleeping.
