DARIEN - The woman charged with causing a massive accident on I-95 in Darien on Saturday that killed two people and tied up traffic for hours appeared in court today.

Police say Yadira Torres, 26, of Hartford, clipped a tractor-trailer, which then spun, turned over and caught fire. The two people in the truck were killed.

Investigators say they believe Torres was not only drunk, but also high on drugs when she caused the accident.

Torres' attorney says she was so distraught in court today that she had to be taken to the hospital for an anxiety attack after leaving the courthouse.

Torres is charged with manslaughter and is due back in court in two weeks.
