BRIDGEPORT - A Shelton man accused of holding up a Bridgeport pharmacy with a pair of machetes appeared in court today.

Matthew Monte, 53, is charged in the robbery of a CVS in Bridgeport last month.

Police say he threatened the pharmacist, who handed over 100 Oxycontin tablets.

The state also revealed today that Monte is wanted in Florida for an outstanding DUI charge.

Monte is being held on $50,000 bond and is expected back in court on Nov. 8.
