Suspects in Norwalk home invasion face 25 years

EAST NORWALK - Suspects in a violent home invasion in East Norwalk could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

Three New York women face charges of first-degree assault, home invasion and conspiracy after police say they broke into the home at 23 Charles St. and stabbed three people Monday.

A fourth male suspect faces charges for driving the getaway car. They all appeared Tuesday in Norwalk Superior Court.

Police say 24-year-old Izabel Ramirez was angered by her ex-boyfriend's recent marriage and traveled up to East Norwalk from New York with two friends to confront her rival and her former beau.

"It was retaliation for a breakup," says Sgt. Andre Velez of the Norwalk Police Department.

Home invasion is now considered an A felony in the state, and if convicted the suspects face a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 25.
