MILFORD - A big scare brought FBI, state police and Hazmat teams to Milford yesterday after suspicious white powder was discovered.

State police say employees at the Department of Children and Families found the powder in two containers inside a package that had been mailed to the office from another country yesterday.

Authorities say one of those containers had broken and the powder was exposed.

Officials say the substance is being sent to the State Department of Public Health for further analysis, but initial tests show the powder was not hazardous.
