NORWALK - Southwestern Connecticut kids have put away their books for spring break, but that doesn't mean they've stopped learning.About 35 first- through fifth-graders attended "Ahoy There!" camp Monday at Norwalk's Maritime Aquarium. Kids learned about the real pirates of the Long Island Sound, how to find treasure with a compass and how to tie knots. They also worked on model pirate ships.
The students were clearly excited. "I've been making all these different kinds of things like this sailboat," said second-grader Adam Frederiksen. "We also made this telescope, also this pirate hat."
Space is limited for the weeklong camp, but parents still have time to sign up their kids.
