Teachers blast plan to change tenure

HARTFORD - Gov. Dannel Malloy is calling on lawmakers to overhaul how the state's 45,000 teachers earn tenure.

He made the comments during his State of the State address yesterday.

Many teachers are against the plan.

They say tenure is a a trade off for low pay.

A teachers' group is writing a formal response to the governor's message and will make it public in the next day or so.
