NEWBURGH - Some lucky teachers from southwestern Connecticut participated in a zero gravity flight Tuesday with an educational program.

The Northrop Grumman Foundation's "Weightless Flights of Discovery" program encourages educators to participate in the experiment and then teach their students about their experience. The program is intended to inspire students to pursue math and science studies.

The teachers rode for 90 minutes in G Force One, six of which were spent completely weightless. A video was taken of the flight, which teachers can use to show their students.

About 120 teachers in the state will participate this year, organizers say.
