FAIRFIELD - Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Fairfield Saturday night that left a teen in serious condition.

Erika Hernandez, 17, was walking home on the Black Rock Turnpike near Tunxis Hill Road when she tried to cross the street and was struck from behind by a vehicle.

Police say that she was thrown several yards because of the impact and landed on a snow bank.

According to investigators, Hernandez says she thinks she was struck by a dark colored Jeep, possibly with two doors.

Fairfield police are asking anyone with information to call them at 203-254-4850.
