BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport teen is recovering after police say a homemade bomb exploded in his face Wednesday night.

Police say the 15-year-old was making the bomb out of household items at a home on Polk Street when it exploded.

His family says he was treated and released from the hospital for second- and third-degree burns to his face.

The Youth Bureau is still investigating and charges have yet to be filed against the teen. Police say it's a case of a teenager being a teenager, trying to repeat something he saw online.
