STRATFORD - A Stratford man is asking for help after the sudden death of his wife last month.

Thomas McLoughlin says his wife Jessica went into sudden cardiac arrest on Jan. 27. The 31-year-old went without oxygen for too long and suffered irreparable brain damage. She died on Feb. 11.

McLoughlin says he simply wasn't prepared to raise their kids, 6-year-old David and 3-year-old Lily, alone. The now-single dad faces about $50,000 in medical, funeral and burial expenses.

McLoughlin turned to the Internet for help, launching a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe. While the page has raised a significant amount of money, McLoughlin still has a long way to go.
