Thousands of people made their way to Stamford on Sunday to watch the city's annual Veterans Memorial Day Parade.

The parade kicked off at the corner of Summer and Hoyt streets. Some parade-goers say they arrived an hour before the start time to secure an ideal viewing spot.

The revelers listened to bagpipes, showed their respect by saluting and waved flags.
