STAMFORD - Memorial Day celebrations took place across southwestern Connecticut as many communities held parades on Sunday.

Thousands of people lined the street in Stamford to watch the Memorial Day parade and remember the veterans who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The crowd cheered as fire trucks carried veterans who waved American flags.
