STAMFORD - About 5,000 people turned out today in Stamford to help raise money for cancer research.

Organizers of the Hope in Motion Walk, Run and Ride, which benefits the Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital, hope to raise $1,000,000 with today's event.

Jacqueline Aponte, who recently finished her last chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer, credits the cancer center with helping her make it through.

"They helped us through and they saved my life and I'm very grateful," Aponte says.
