NORWALK - The number of power outages in Connecticut is now below 200,000 in the aftermath of Irene.

The state's two major utilities, Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating, reported a combined 178,000 outages this morning, down from a peak of 830,000 after Sunday's storm.

They expect more people to be restored by the weekend.
