Traffic resumes after pileup on I-95 between Stratford and Fairfield

NORWALK - Traffic is back to normal on I-95 Saturday after a pileup shut down the highway for hours.

State police say a ladder fell from a truck, causing a chain reaction of accidents between Stratford and Fairfield. They say five vehicles collided, including a tractor-trailer, near exit 29 on the northbound side.

Stratford firefighters say they had to cut the roof off one car and pull its doors off to reach its passengers.

Three people were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
