Tree-removal companies grinding away after weekend storm

NORWALK - Tree-removal companies in southwestern Connecticut are working around the clock to clean up debris left behind by the weekend storm. The winter blast took down thousands of trees across the region, and some crew members say the damage is almost as extensive as it was during Tropical Storm Irene. "I think because of the heavy snow and ice, and the wind combined with the leaves that were still on the trees, made it pretty bad," says Mike Henthorn, of Bill Mann's Tree Removal. Residents have put up caution tape near downed trees, especially to protect children heading out for Halloween. According to tree-removal experts, homeowners and prospective home buyers should have all trees on their property inspected to avoid possible dangers.Storm Resource LinksVIDEO: Gov.
