NORWALK - State police are investigating a large truck fire that shut down the highway earlier today.

The fire broke out at around 11:30 a.m. on the southbound side of I-95 in Norwalk, right at exit 15.

State police were forced to close I-95 and the southbound entrance lane from Route 7.

State police say the driver was able to get out safely.

They say the trailer was empty, so there is no concern of hazardous materials spilling onto the road.
