A Trumbull man is facing charges after police say he tried to blackmail a Buddhist monk.Officers say Tuan Nguyen, 32, tried to get the monk

TRUMBULL - A Trumbull man is facing charges after police say he tried to blackmail a Buddhist monk.

Officers say Tuan Nguyen, 32, tried to get the monk to break his religious vows and then use the evidence against him to collect blackmail money.

A woman is facing charges along with Nguyen, but police say but the prosecutor will likely drop them.

Nguyen is free on $30,000 bond and is scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 18.
