TRUMBULL - A Trumbull toddler is dead after he was swept away in a river yesterday.

Officials say 21-month-old Thomas Chisholm fell into the Pequonnock River behind his home on Lindberg Drive.

He was found by rescue crews in Bridgeport about two hours later in Bunnel's Pond, more than a mile away from where he went in.

The boy was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where police say he died a few hours later.
