UConn 1 win away from fourth title

STAMFORD - The UConn Huskies are one win away from their fourth NCAA National Championship after defeating Florida 63-53 Saturday night.

News 12 Connecticut spoke with many students at the University of Connecticut’s Stamford campus who said they did not expect the team to go this far in the NCAA tournament. UConn is the first seventh seed team to make it to the championship game.

A raucous Husky Nation crowd packed McFadden's Stamford Saturday night during the Final Four game.

“It was insane. You couldn't move in here, and they were loud for every single play of the game,” said Ryan Feinstein, of McFadden’s.

The Huskies won their last championship in 2011 after a remarkable run through the Big East championship and NCAA tournament.

They will take on the Kentucky Wildcats on Monday at 9:10 p.m. at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
