STAMFORD - The University of Connecticut campus was abuzz Wednesday as students and faculty continued celebrating both the men’s and women’s basketball teams winning the championship this year.

News 12 Connecticut spoke with students who could barely talk because they lost their voices from cheering for the past few days.

The campus director at UConn says the university is known for academics as well as its athletic programs, but these wins have made UConn a household name across the country.

UConn admissions say they cannot pinpoint if basketball championships have had a direct effect on admission numbers in the past years.
