HARTFORD - Husky fans got a chance to thank the UConn women's baskeball team on their eighth national championship today during a parade around the state capital.

The precession began at the state Capitol as Coach Geno Auriemma and the players rode in cars and on floats while hundreds of fans lined the streets. From the Capitol, the parade route traveled north on Trinity Street and circled Bushnell Park before returning to the statehouse for a special ceremony.

Many state dignitaries were in attendance, including Gov. Dannel Malloy.
