STANFORD, Calif. - (AP) - One of the greatest streaks in sportsended last night. After 90 games and two and a-half seasons, the longest winningstreak in college basketball history is history. Top-ranked Connecticut lost 71-59 to ninth-ranked Stanford toend UConn's record 90-game winning streak. Jeanette Pohlen ledStanford with a career-high 31 points, including fivethree-pointers. Stanford did an excellent defensive job on UConnAll-American Maya Moore, holding her to 14 points on 5-of-15shooting. Stanford won its 52nd straight at Maples Pavilion. This was a rematch of last season's NCAA championship game wonby UConn. Stanford was the last team to beat UConn, in the 2008NCAA semifinals. The date was April 6, 2008. Just last week, the Huskies topped the 88-game winning streakset by John Wooden's UCLA men's team from 1971-74. "When you play really good teams on the road, and you don'tplay well, that's when you get beat," UConn coach Geno Auriemma said afterward. "I'm not surprised by it."
