WESTPORT - State police are investigating a weekend car crash that reportedly caused a pregnant woman to lose her child.

The Connecticut Post reports the 30-year-old woman from the Bronx, drove off the Merritt Parkway between exits 41 and 42 in Westport early yesterday.

Emergency responders reportedly had to cut her from the vehicle.

Reports say she was 36-weeks pregnant and had an emergency C-section, but the child was stillborn.

The mother is reportedly in stable condition.
