NORWALK - Southwestern Connecticut residents are remembering Brian Petronella, the head of the Westport-based United Food and Commercial Workers Local 371, who died Friday night.

A close friend told News 12 Connecticut that Petronella came home from work on Friday, changed his clothes and collapsed a short time later in the living room. Doctors say he didn't feel any pain.

Petronella, 57, was very active in the Democratic party and leaves behind a wife and two children.

Just two days before his passing, Petronella had finally secured unionization rights for bartenders at Foxwoods after a 17-year struggle.
