NORWALK - Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating are offering a new program that could help residents make their homes more energy-efficient.

Under the new program, energy specialists will be inspecting homes to detect where heat is being lost and helping homeowners fix the problem by sealing window seams and floor creases for the price of $75.

"It's like going to your doctor for a physical," says Christopher Ehlert, of United Illuminating. "We're giving your home a check up."

Energy experts working for the Home Energy Solutions Program will also check air ducts and insulate pipes.

Once all the tests are complete, the energy specialist will be able to explain to homeowners what steps should be taken to make the house more energy-efficient.
