BRIDGEPORT - An endangered Brazilian baby ocelot, which was born at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, made its first contact with humans today.
Veterinarians examined the 6-week-old kitten for the first time. They say it had been kept in seclusion to bond with its mother since it was born in January.
An ocelot's looks are similar to domestic house cats, but its fur resembles that of leopards or jaguars.
The zoo says it is now in the process of choosing a name for the kitten.
