FAIRFIELD - Metro-North officials have identified the woman struck and killed by a train in Fairfield earlier this week.

Police say Jennifer Battista, 41, of Milford, was hit by an Amtrak train near the Southport station on Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses say they saw Battista lie on the tracks in front of one train which stopped before hitting her.

They say she then got up to lie on the other tracks where she was then hit.
