Victim in Orange drowning identified as Vaughn Porteous

ORANGE - Orange police have identified the man found dead in a lake last week.

Police say the victim is Vaughn Porteous, 27, of Hamden.

The medical examiner says he accidentally drowned.

Police believe Porteous was involved in a car crash on the Merritt Parkway on March 19.  They think he fled the scene and later drowned.

Porteous' family reported him missing on April 1.
